Do Breast Implants Fix Saggy Breasts?

No. Here's Why

Breast implants make breasts larger but do not raise your nipples or breasts. A breast lift will raise your nipples and tighten loose skin, but will not change your breast size. These are two different operations which accomplish two different goals. They are commonly performed at the same time, but may be performed separately.

Simply put, if your nipples and breasts are droopy and you want them lifted, then you need to have a breast lift.

If your nipples are droopy, but you want to avoid a lift and have only an augmentation, this is what Dr. Loftus recommends:

If you have Grade I ptosis (mild), you can probably avoid having a lift. You must accept, however, that your nipples will not be raised and will continue to appear low. Chances are that you will be happier with slightly low nipples than with the scars that accompany a breast lift (see below). If not, you can always choose to have a breast lift at any time.

If you have Grade II (moderate) or Grade III (severe) breast ptosis, then you probably need to have a breast lift done at the same time as your augmentation. If you have this degree of droop and you have an augmentation alone (without a lift), then you will have a high chance of the following deformities: bulging and double-bubble. Bulging is due to apparent fullness of the upper half of the breast. This occurs in those cases when the implants are placed in the proper position on your chest wall because the breast is so low that it appears to hang off the implant. If your surgeon attempts to remedy this problem by over-lowering the implant, you may develop a double bubble, which is an unnatural bulge below the breast.

If you have Grade II or Grade III ptosis (droop), and choose to have implants without a lift, then you will almost certainly have a bulge either above or below the implant. Fortunately, a lift will remedy either problem in most cases.
